Since 1956 the SC Church of God Home for Children has been caring for abused and neglected children. We are a haven for hurting children….the South Carolina Church of God Home for Children is committed to providing a wholesome, well-balanced life for every child in our care, and a family-structured program that teaches Biblical values, morals, and love.

What we are…

At the SC COG Home for Children we are licensed through the SC Department of Social Services to care for both DSS and privately placed children. The Home for Children offers safe and loving, family-style homes to children who need a place to help them grow emotionally, academically and spiritually to reach their full potential.

The Home for Children works closely with parents and grandparents or other relatives to develop an individualized plan for each child’s unique needs. This partnership is critical to making sure the family is involved every step of the way. We also partner with physicians, therapists, psychiatrists, tutors, and other professionals to make sure all of our children receive the professional care they deserve. We created our own behavior management program based on positive reinforcement. This program has proven to decrease negative behaviors while increasing our children’s self-esteem, self-confidence, sense of safety, and ability to feel loved.

Where we are…

In June, 1969, the Home moved to its present location on Highway 417 in Mauldin, South Carolina, which consists of a 25-acre campus. We have three family style cottages as well as a transitional home. Being located in Greenville County has allowed us to have all the professional resources to better meet the needs of our children. We are blessed to be located directly across the street from the SC Church of God State Administrative Offices and Campground. Through our great partnership with the Church of God, our children have access to baseball fields, swimming pools, youth camps, and retreats.
